{Pretty, Happy, Funny, Real}

~ Capturing the context of everyday life ~

One of my favorite dinners – loaded mashed potatoes.  Granted this particular combination wasn’t the biggest hit (I really don’t recommend using canned tomatoes, sadly I was desperate for some color in the bowls) but still so yummy.

Pizza and his favorite shirt.  And very much wanting to show off the pizza in his mouth too.  Ahh, boys 🙂
Still wearing his sunglasses, even though he took my seat on the opposite side of the table.  Showing some evidence of an earlier session with the markers.  And really interested in a bite of my egg roll, even though it was too hot and he doesn’t really like it anyway.  But you can almost hear him saying “get in my belly!” can’t you?

Right after last Friday’s picture he shot me this look.   A reminder of the real that lurks behind the cute – at first happily, quietly, peacefully looking at our favorite ballet book, a lovely moment followed by a quick crash to reality with the stink eye.  Oh well, gotta take what I can get and enjoy it while I got it 🙂

    Your boys are getting so big and looking so much older now.
