It has been another week of neglected knitting. Perhaps it is time to cast on a simpler project. Or just suck it up and pick up those sleeve stitches. Or remember that I can work on my Epic once in a while. I don’t know. To everything a season I suppose and maybe summer in Texas is just not the season for knitting.
Reading has been yet another week of more than half a dozen books in progress. I’ll be honest, I’m enjoying Pride and Prejudice a lot more than I thought I would. The Little Oratory is wonderful but tough to find time for (it really requires some time for me to focus.) I’m actually trying to savor Notes from a Blue Bike rather than scarf it down and I think I’m going to make the WeatherMan read it when I’m done. And Happiest Toddler on the Block may or may not be helping the toddler and preschooler behaviors at the moment but it is helping me to remember to react in a positive way to their shrieking and flipping out misbehavior. I also just got a notice that I have a library ebook hold available so I suppose I better read that too. I’m starting to think it will be impressive if I can get anything of my own finished this summer!

Yeah, I would say knitting in Texas in the summer does not work well. Even if everything is air conditioned to within an inch of life.
Thanks for the book suggestion. The blue bike book looks good. I live in Texas too and I do shift my knitting to smaller things or cotton and bamboo items. Socks always work!
Summer knitting can be tough – especially in the warmer climates. I have a couple of “heavier” projects that I need to finish asap before it gets too warm. After that it’s lace weight and fingering weight all the way! Hope you find something to knit that makes you HAPPY!

Summer knitting is difficult here in New England…and we don’t get the extreme heat that Texas gets. I’ll be thinking cooling thought for you and the family.
Its not always the right time or place for knitting, pick it up when you feel like it.
I love “Pride and Prejudice”. It’s just so well written that it’s completely easy to sink into and enjoy.
I love in Texas and knit all through the summer! Cotton yarns are great and allow you to knit blankets( which I am doing) quite well. Where in Texas are you? Might we be close?
That should be ” live in Texas” not love, although I love it here as well!
