~Capturing the context of contentment in everyday life ~
with Like Mother, Like Daughter
Wow, it has been a while since I’ve been here. But I’m hoping to improve that now that wee folks are sleeping through the night and letting me get up and get in some “me time” in the morning. Well, not today but usually. And I am again in need of finding and celebrating and clinging to those moments of peace, joy and beauty.
I might not have been actively blogging but I was still looking for good pics for the blog 😉 Our unfinished Jesse tree and manger bowl for the Holy Family were pretty on Christmas morning. (Through Advent the bowl is filled with scraps of yarn, one for every kindness or good deed or sacrifice the kids make to make a comfy bed for the Baby Jesus. This year seems to have been a little less in the manger than previous years. Or maybe I just have a little too much scrap yarn.)
Why, yes. Happiness is a huge plate of cookies.
(There were mini M&M chocolate chip, sugar, gingerbread, cranberry oatmeal with orange glaze, and peppermint whoopie pies. The oatmeal was the (adult) crowd favorite but the kids prefer the sugar and gingerbread because they get to run wild at Miss Julie’s when we follow the long tradition of baking at her house. I seem to recall that my brother and I also used to do more running around than baking too. And that was happy too.)
So we find the camera on Christmas morning and there is a complete Lego series on it. Complete as in someone or several someones documented the step by step assembly of a few Lego creations. There are a couple videos too. I’m just thankful that we don’t have a camera phone – we’ve learned that all three love selfies and can take about 300 in a minute. Good times.
