This past weekend was a ridiculously busy weekend. But beautiful. First was our women’s group day retreat, which I was on the (planning) team for. Planning is in parentheses because really the planning of the event is secondary to the formation of the team. It’s been great. And the retreat was lovely too. It’s absolutely amazing how everything just comes together in the end, as if the Holy Spirit is putting in overtime. It is also incredible how just a few table clothes and some flowers can transform a gym.
Here is the finished banner I was working on. I wish the lighting was better, the colors are so gorgeous in real life. And it is huge! Wider than the banner stand and the tallest stand is just barely tall enough for it. We ended up putting the stand up on the milk crate so it could be better seen. I’ve heard tell they’ll be using it for Confirmation this week too.
Now, because one major event is never enough, this weekend was also First Communion for the Bigger Boy! The Boy was so excited. He can’t wait to go to “short Mass” (daily Mass) on Thursday and get to go to Communion again. (Not that Mass on Thursday is likely to be short, holy day of obligation and all, but please don’t tell him that!) And then we had a ton of people over to the house for brunch after. It was a wonderful day!
And now I am exhausted. But it was all so worth it!
