My Surprise Jacket is cast on (only took three tries!) and knitting along nicely. I joke it will be my technicolor dream coat since I’m knitting from stash, which is often an adventure – all this yarn that I must have bought for something but it’s been so long I have no idea. Luckily it all works together pretty well. And look, I’ve even knit since getting home from retreat! (No, I didn’t switch colors just so you could tell! But it does help doesn’t it?) At my sloth-like gentle rate of knitting I might be able to finish it in time to show it off at retreat next year.
Reading is, yet again, at least half a dozen books going at the moment. I don’t quite know how I keep doing that to myself but it certainly keeps happening. Some have been in progress almost forever but these here are the most recent additions to the pile. I just started Mr. Darcy’s Sister by C. Allyn Pierson last night and so far so good (I had realized my pile was all nonfiction and that needed to be dealt with.) Also going is Great Possessions An Amish Farmer’s Journal by David Kline and Laudato Si, a little bit of a theme there. I was trying to finish Laudato Si before going to hear Bro. Mickey McGrath speak on it but didn’t manage that so I’m still slowly working my way through it. (The presentation was wonderful, by the way. If you ever have the chance to see Bro. Mickey I highly recommend it!)
Happy Wednesday! Happy Yarn Along!
I have been knitting from my stash lately as well. Although, I am not as brave as to cast on for a jacket! Most of my stash knitting tends to be dish cloths or scarves.
Cute jacket. I think using stash is always fun because I forget what I have!
Good luck with your surprise jacket! I can only handle two books at once: one fiction and one non-fiction.
I haven’t knit the surprise jacket yet but I should I love EZ patterns, she was genius before her time. Lovely that you are destashing as you knit!!
