Yarn Along

Surprise, surprise – I’m a little behind. Today I should be able to finish up piece 8 of my knitting project and I have lofty hopes of also finishing the quilt top. I’m pretty close and this is not quite as delusional as it sounds. I was granted a small extension on my knitting project so I am still on track, as long as we’re going by the new timeline. And since I’m working from home for the next two weeks and we’re wrapping up our second quarter of schoolishness in record time I can make lots of time for finishing up the quilt top. Pressing all those dang seams is what will probably take the longest.

Reading has also temporarily slowed, making time for all the projects and elf-work that must be accomplished this week. Today’s traditional make lots of noise at Ms Julie’s house make lots of Christmas cookies at Ms Julie’s house has been postponed until tomorrow so instead we’ll be making lots of noise at our house making coffee cake, muffins, chocolates, ornaments, and soap at our house. And taking a spelling test. And taking a bath. And reading lots of books. That kinda sounds like a lot, doesn’t it? Thankfully the kids will be distracted by the hand-me-down railroad set they brought home yesterday – and yesterday they played nicely, quietly, lovingly, appropriately for hours. HOURS I tell you! A Christmas miracle!

Good luck and make sure you enjoy and revel in the noise, because before you know it all will be quiet as they fly the nest. Happy Christmas.

Today is my last day of quiet in which to finish two projects. We’ll see if that happens! Good luck getting everything finished!
